Matt and Philbert packed up some books and headed to the East End of Easley... East End Elementary School, to be precise!
After a marathon 7 hours spent reading to 14 classes, they enjoyed getting to know so many fantastic students, faculty and staff!

Matt had the pleasure of reading "Philbert LaRue had a Hole in his Shoe" to 125 kindergarten and 125 first grade scholars at the Legacy Early College Elementary School in Greenville, SC.
The kids laughed aloud and were very engaging during the entire afternoon.

Matt and Philbert joined 121 students, between first and fifth grade, for a fun and entertaining afternoon at Lakes and Bridges Charter School in Easley, SC.
In addition to reading "Philbert LaRue had a Hole in his Shoe," Matt previewed the first chapter of his upcoming middle grades chapter book, "Tabouli." The kids loved it!
Matt can't wait to see his new friends again soon! Thank you, Lakes and Bridges Charter School!
Matt was invited to read "Philbert laRue had a Hole in his Shoe" to the Rainbow Gang at the ribbon-cutting for their new activity room. Matt brought Philbert and his guitar and enjoyed every minute of his time with these fantastic people!
The Rainbow Gang (Special Populations Recreation) is a recreation, leisure and sports program created by the Anderson County Council to meet the needs of individuals with mental and physical challenges through recreational, leisure and sports activities.
Special Populations also works hand-in-hand with Special Olympics Area 14 to provide year round sports training to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
